I love sushi too! Macado is one of the nicer places to go, but watch out, it's pricey. My actual favorite however, is a place called Pre-King on Hillcrest between Airport and Grelot. It's a smorgisborg of Asian food, but they have great sushi. I would recommend sitting at the little sushi bar where you can watch the chef work his magic. I can't remember his name, but it's always the same guy. I would recommend the Tuna Tataki, the Hurricane role and the Spicy Tuna role.
Have you ever tried Liquid? It's downtown, next to the Bike Shop. Woody and Jim, the guys who own the Bike Shop, own it and their staff is very accommodating. You should try it out!
